This was after a rally demanding reservations for Patidar youth in government jobs and educational institutions turned violent in Visnagar town. A mob of around 3,000 to 5,000 people vandalised BJP MLA Rushikesh Patel's office. In all, 17 people, including Hardik Patel, were charged with arson, rioting, and criminal conspiracy. The Joint UN Agency on AIDS (UNAIDS) report titled 'Miles to go closing gaps, breaking barriers, righting injustices' said Asia and the Pacific regions have made strong inroads with its HIV response. Sustained and focused efforts to reach key populations have led to major reductions in HIV infections in Cambodia, India, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam between 2010 and 2017. Glenmark Pharma gets final nod from USFDA for cholesterol lowering drug

The approved product is a generic version of Daiichi Sankyo Inc's Welchol Health News  : Glenmark Pharmaceuticals has received final approval from the US health regulator for Colesevelam Hydrochloride for oral suspension, used to lower cholesterol levels in the blood. The approval has been granted by the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) in the strengths of 1.875 grams/packet and 3.75 grams/packet, the company said in a BSE filing on Tuesday. The approved product is a generic version of Daiichi Sankyo Inc's Welchol. Quoting IQVIA sales data for the 12-month period ended May 2018, the company said Welchol achieved annual sales of around $73 million. The company's current portfolio consists of 138 products authorised for distribution in the US market, and 62 Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs) are pending approval with the USFDA, it added.  Read Complete Article

Sonali Bendre suffering from high grade cancer

Actress Sonali Bendre says she has been diagnosed with a "high-grade cancer" and she is undergoing treatment in New York. The actress on Wednesday took to Twitter and Instagram to share the news about her health. She has thanked her family and friends for supporting her. In a long post, Sonali said: "Sometimes, when you least expect it, life throws you a curveball. I have recently been diagnosed with a high grade cancer that has metastised, which we frankly did not see coming. "A niggling pain led to some tests, which led to this unexpected diagnosis. My family and close friends have rallied around me, providing the best support system that anyone can ask for. I am very blessed and thankful for each of them," she added.
